Calcium carbonate from 100% natural Oyster Shell, scientifically formulated with added Vitamin D3 to aid in the absorption of calcium, RepCal Ultrafine (fine grind) is an excellent source of calcium for all reptiles and amphibians. To aid in the absorption of calcium, Vitamin D3 has been added to the formula.
We recommend adding RepCal Herptivite to your weekly vitamin routine. If the products were premixed, the "beadlets" of beta carotene in Herptivite may potentially be damaged during manufacturing by the calcium in RepCal. Therefore, we suggest mixing approximately 1/2 tablespoon of RepCal with 1/2 tablespoon of Herptivite per pound of food, along with vegetables and fruits.
Before feeding insects, follow these steps: 1) Pour RepCal Calcium into a plastic bag, 2) Place the insects in the bag, and 3) Shake slowly until they are completely covered. No other supplementation is required. Once per week, use our Herptivite Multivitamin instead of Calcium.
